FAQ
How long will my lashes last?
Approximately 4-6 weeks if you respect them and follow our aftercare. A real lash’s life cycle is around 25-28 days, and as yours grow and fall out, so will the extensions that are attached. Your life style and what work you do will also make a difference how long they last. Regular exercise that causes heavy sweating can effect the lifetime of the extensions.
why do i need infills?
We recommend our clients to get their lashes infilled every 2 - 3 weeks, as natural lashes go through a replenishing cycle. You will find your lashes will fall out gradually, looking less full as they shed. The time between appointments depends on what suits you personally and how quickly your natural lashes shed, how well your retention is, how full you like them to look, and other externals factors such as the season, the weather and what activities you partake in. You will find your lashes would probably last better in winter more so than summer.
Can I use lash serums such as Revitalash with eyelash extensions?
Absolutely! It’s fine to use lash serums that are applied onto your lashline (eyeliner brush) but avoid any lash conditioners that require you to apply directly onto your lashes (mascara wand) as they may contain oils and reduce the longevity of your lash extensions. Some clients have found that lash serums actually helped their natural lashes grow, and it made their lash extensions last longer.
What are the lashes made out of? Are there different kinds of lashes to choose from?
The most common type of lashes and is also what we use are Silk Lashes. They are made from synthetic PBT fibers, which are a type of polyester resistant to solvent. I prefer the Silk as it holds the curl better and has a matt finish which provides a more natural, softer look.
I had eyelash extensions applied a few days ago and a few lashes have fallen out – why?
Lashes have growth cycles and unfortunately it is hard to determine which lash is ready to fall out naturally so it is unpredictable when applying the lashes. Each day we can loose up to 3-5 natural lashes and can often fall out unnoticed. When we have extensions applied we are more aware of when they shed as apposed to our natural lashes shedding without as they are longer, darker and thicker than our natural lashes. If you sleep on your stomach with your face squashed into the pillow or you favour sleeping on one side you may notice the lashes may not last as well as the other side does.
I have very sensitive eyes can i still have eyelash extensions applied?
Yes as eyelash extensions are applied to the natural lash never touching the skin. However, in extreme cases reactions can occur. If you have concerns please get in contact.
Can the eyelash extensions be removed?
Yes, at any time for any reason they can be removed without any damage being done to your natural lashes however there will be a removal charge. Refer to prices. Please do not try to remove the extensions yourself, you will end up pulling out your natural lashes.
What should I do before my eyelash extension appointment?
If you have fair eyelashes it is recommended to have them tinted before your eyelash extension appointment. Preferably arrive with no makeup or at least NO mascara and do not perm or curl your eyelashes before your eyelash extension appointment.
Please do not drink coffee or energy drinks for at least 2 hours prior to your appointment as the caffeine can cause your eyes to flutter involuntarily.
